Based on their morphology and behavior have described several types of killer whale, which are based on their mitochondrial DNA  and some have proposed that are species different or failing that, at least it's different races.

The orca (Orcinus orca) is a species of cetacean odontocetes belonging to the family Delphinidae (oceanic dolphins), which inhabits all oceans of the planet. It is the largest species of dolphin and the only known existing within the genus Orcinus.
